The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning until 6:30 p.m. tonight – Thursday, July 31 for the following Pennsylvania areas – Southeastern Bucks County, Eastern Delaware County, Southeastern Montgomery County and Philadelphia County. Also affected are Northwestern Camden County and North Central Gloucester County in southern New Jersey,
NWS forecasters said, life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses in some areas such as Philadelphia, Camden, Gloucester City, Bensalem, Yeadon, Bristol, Conshohocken, Palmyra, Hatboro, Folcroft, Ambler and Swarthmore.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 8 pm tonight – Thursday – July 31.

A flood watch is in effect for Lower Bucks from Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible on Thursday, July 31 2025 in Lower Bucks along with portions of Pennsylvania such as the following counties – Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery. New Castle, Delaware is scheduled to be affected. New Jersey counties and areas may be affected are Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Northwestern Burlington, Salem, Somerset, Southeastern Burlington and Western Monmouth, says authorities.
NWS advises the public that excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
A very warm and humid airmass will be in place ahead of an approaching cold front, which will push across the region through Thursday night. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon into tonight, which will be capable of producing heavy rainfall. Forecast rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches can generally be expected, with localized amounts of 5 to 7 inches or greater possible. Rainfall rates may exceed 2 inches per hour, says forecasters.
