YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties and Metro Esports have announced the expansion of their partnership with the opening of a new esports gaming lounge at the Y’s Fairless Hills branch.
The state-of-the-art gaming lounge is scheduled to begin running programs this spring at the Fairless Hills YMCA located at 601 S. Oxford Valley Road. YMCA members and non-members will be able to take part in casual gaming, tournaments and league play for major esports titles, while using powerful industry-leading gaming PCs, next-generation consoles and popular gaming and esports titles. Open to all ages, the new gaming lounge will serve as a hub for fun and learning.
Following successful collaboration at YMCA branches in Doylestown and Warminster, the Y in Fairless Hills will provide members and community residents with a welcoming and inclusive environment to enjoy gaming, camps and technology skill development regardless of age and ability.
“The new facility at YMCA Fairless Hills is not just a symbol of growth,” said Ari Evans, vice president of operations for Metro Esports. “It’s a reflection of our evolving vision with YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties to create meaningful, tech-driven community spaces. This venture continues our commitment to inspire, educate and connect individuals through the vibrant world of esports and technology. I look forward to building upon our foundation and deepening our impact with new innovative technology, exciting experiences, and educational opportunities at YMCA Fairless Hills.”
Registration is open for the Y’s Metro Esports 2024 half-day Summer Camp at the Fairless Hills branch. Metro summer camps at the Y offer a blend of esports, gaming, and STEAM-focused activities led by Metro Esports professionals. Each camp session will focus on a different game, catering to students grades first through seventh of all skill levels.
The Metro Esports program lineup at the Y in Fairless Hills includes after-school activities, day-off school camps, community events, esports leagues, weekly events and STEM education opportunities. Also featured is Adobe Creative Suite, providing tools and resources for homework assistance, creative projects and technological exploration. Creative Suite is designed specifically to foster creativity and academic support for students.
“The new Metro Esports gaming lounge, camps and programs embody our vision of community and collaboration,” shared Andrew Yannarella, vice president of operations for YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties in Fairless Hills. “We invite our community to join us in this exciting journey as we continue to provide exceptionally safe and inclusive experiences for our members and participants.”
