Fitzpatrick Speaks at Committee on Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Hearing on Lowering Costs for Patients

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks), through his Meta Page, recently shared his exchange during the Committee on Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Hearing on Lowering Costs for Patients; while commenters voiced their concern that he said one thing and did another.

At Tuesday, April 8’s hearing, Fitzpatrick said, “I continued advocating for solutions that increase access and affordability—like expanding the use of biosimilars. Biosimilars are safe, effective alternatives to costly biologics and could dramatically reduce out-of-pocket expenses. But despite their promise, outdated Medicare reimbursement policies and a lack of provider incentives have slowed their adoption.”

“Every American deserves access to affordable, life-saving medications—especially those battling cancer, chronic illnesses, and autoimmune diseases. Improving Medicare’s Part B payment model is a targeted, bipartisan solution that would help increase biosimilar use, reduce costs, and ensure more patients benefit from the full range of available therapies.”

“Patients shouldn’t have to choose between access and affordability. We can and must do both.”

Fitzpatrick, who has refused to speak with this publication among other local media outlets, has chosen only to appear on cable or national network news stations. He is now facing a very serious challenge for his congressional seat in next year’s midterms in the form of Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie. The congressman representing the first district has leaned on press releases and social media posts recently.

His relationship with locally owned independent media companies has gotten so bad, that when making appearances in the district he has asked for those public appearances not to be made public in an effort to ward off “protesters,” multiple sources have told Lower Bucks Source over the last year.
