Salute 2 Service Inc. is proud to announce the receipt of a monumental $169,100 grant from ACME Markets Foundation, provided through its Nourishing Neighbors Program.

This game-changing funding will launch “Operation No Vet Left Hungry,” a vital new initiative aimed squarely at combating food insecurity among veterans and their families in Bucks County.

The need in Lower Bucks County is immense, as the area is home to an estimated 64% of all Bucks County veterans. Thanks to this grant, we will establish a new food distribution location in Lower Bucks County, effectively increasing our capacity and accessibility.

“This funding is a game-changer for our mission. It allows us to increase our reach, serving more at-need veterans, particularly those who have served since 1990.”

“Operation No Vet Left Hungry” goes beyond just increasing volume. It will significantly improve the quality and variety of food distributed. The grant allows us to purchase specialty items to complement existing donations, ensuring we meet specific ethnic, religious, and dietary preferences of our veteran community.

“We’ll not only provide more food but also better, more tailored options, ensuring those who sacrificed for our country get the support they deserve.”

The program will also incorporate nutrition counseling and cooking education to help veterans make the most of the food they receive, fostering overall health and a better quality of life.

Since 2013, Salute 2 Service has provided a crucial helping hand to address the disproportionate challenges veterans face, including food insecurity, homelessness, and unemployment. This grant bridges the gap between those needs and available support, moving us closer to our founding mission: “Leave no Veteran Behind.”

Salute 2 Service is incredibly grateful to ACME Markets Foundation for making this expansion possible.
