The GIANT Company, known locally as GIANT and MARTIN’S, today announced an expansion of its wellbeing services to support customers taking GLP-1 medications. Through personalized nutrition guidance, pharmacy expertise and wellness resources, the offering helps customers build healthy habits, achieve sustainable results and improve their overall health.
“As more customers turn to GLP-1 medications as part of their health journey, GIANT and MARTIN’S pharmacists and dietitians are helping them navigate what comes next,” said Nick Koch, director of pharmacy and wellbeing, The GIANT Company. “Whether looking for protein-rich meal ideas or weight management with GLP-1 medications, our wellbeing team members are available every step of the way to both inform and help our customers shop with confidence.”
According to a July 2026 Gallup National Health and Well-Being Index survey, about 11% of U.S. adults reported actively using a GLP-1 medication for weight loss in 2026, up from just 3% in 2024. Gallup also noted that usage for weight loss has nearly quadrupled in two years.
All GIANT and MARTIN’S pharmacies are participating in the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program being offered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This program provides eligible Medicare Part D patients with access to certain GLP-1 medications for weight loss and weight management through Dec. 31, 2027. Eligible patients have a $50 copay. Customers should consult with their healthcare provider about program eligibility and for a prescription.
Led by GIANT and MARTIN’S team of dietitians, the October Talk & Tours will be focused on GLP-1 nutrition. These free, one-hour in-store tours will offer nutrition strategies for GLP-1 medications and weight management, including how to choose protein-packed, fiber-rich, and nutrient-dense foods. Attendees will enjoy recipe inspiration and receive product samples. Upcoming Talk & Tours include:

In addition, every Wednesday this October, the company will host free “Living Well” virtual classes with a GIANT or MARTIN’S dietitian or pharmacist. Attendees can learn practical nutrition strategies to support healthy eating, manage side effects, and optimize results while taking GLP-1 medications for weight management and overall wellbeing.
