Health Department Adds 23 New Cases, 6 Delayed Cases, to COVID Total

The Bucks County Health Department Tuesday added 29 cases to its total of COVID-19 infections, six of them delayed reports that no longer are infectious.

One death attributed to COVID-19 also was announced: an 89-year-old man in a long-term care facility who had underlying health conditions.

Of the 29 cases announced today, eight are residents or workers at long-term care facilities, five resulted from household contacts, four were spread in healthcare settings, three were attributed to pure community spread, two were travel-related, one is a jail inmate, one was infected at a workplace, and five were unable to be interviewed immediately.

Seventy-seven patients remain hospitalized, 12 of them in critical condition and on ventilators.

Bucks County’s total number of cases during the pandemic stands at 5,284. Of those, COVID is blamed for 503 deaths, 404 of them residents of long-term care facilities, while 3,187 are confirmed to have recovered.
