The GIANT Company is celebrating Giving Tuesday by donating $60,000 to the Salvation Army Corps and providing 3,000 hams to area hunger relief organizations, including Mary’s Cupboard a food pantry serving Fairless Hills, Fallsington, and Levittown.
“Hunger doesn’t take a break during the holidays,” said Jennifer Scott, chief human resources and community relations officer, The GIANT Company. “With more families facing food insecurity this holiday season, The GIANT Company is doing its part to contribute to the local efforts of our hunger relief partners to ensure all of our neighbors have full plates.”
The GIANT Company is also supporting The Salvation Army’s holiday hunger relief programs by donating $5,000 to 12 Salvation Army locations for a total donation of $60,000. Recipient Salvation Army locations include Levittown, Philadelphia, several other Pennsylvania areas and also a Winchester, Va. location, said GIANT officials.
“No one should have to wonder where their next meal will come from, especially during the holidays,” said Lt. Colonel Edgar George, Jr. Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Division. “Thanks to The GIANT Company’s generous support, we can provide nourishing meals and relief to families in need across Eastern Pennsylvania. Their partnership reminds our neighbors that they are not alone, and that joy and compassion are still very much alive this season.”
