Giant is on a mission to help combat local hunger ahead of the busy holiday season through their Fill A Plate effort.

Started last Friday and running through Sunday, October 27, customers can participate in Fill a Plate, a non-perishable food drive to benefit local food banks and pantries by dropping off items at their local Giant stores.

Suggested non-perishable donated items include canned fruits and vegetables, canned tuna and chicken, cereal, granola bars, macaroni and cheese, and related items. Donation bins can be found at the front of each store near customer service.

Lower Bucks Source visited  the Morrisville Giant, located at W. Trenton Avenue on Saturday morning and their bin was starting to fill up after the first day. The store also had Stove Top Stuffing at the registers for last minute shoppers who may want to buy and donate the item. Other products may appear at the registers as the week progresses, officials said.
