NWS: Heat Advisory Continues until Tonight, Foggy Conditions Could Make Driving Hazardous

Credit: National Weather Service

The weather gods will continue to beat on the area today as a heat advisory is in effect until this evening and forecasters warn motorists about foggy driving conditions for Wednesday.

The heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. this evening with heat index values peaking into the mid 90’s. A high temperature of 90 degrees is predicted for today, however forecasters warn that like yesterday, hot temperatures and high humidity could cause illness for some.

The after effects of yesterdays rain fall, the weather service says, could also make driving difficult for motorists, as visibility could be one half mile or less in at times resulting in foggy conditions.

Forecasters said Wednesday morning the over hanging fog could last until mid-morning. Drivers are urged to give themselves extra time this morning to reach planned destinations.

NWS suggests drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air conditioned rooms, and keep exposure to heat at a minimum.

Please check in with your older neighbors especially those with pets as they may need help today.

As a general reminder, NWS says children and pets should not be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstance.
