Powerful Storm Brings Rain, Strong Winds & Potential Flooding to Lower Bucks Area

Batten Down the hatches as a powerful fall storm is moving through the Philadelphia region and is expected to wreak havoc with high winds heavy rainfall and coastal flooding Thursday going into Friday, forecasters at the National Weather Service say. 

NWS forecasters say a coastal flood advisory remains in effect until midnight.

Expected impacts are of  up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

Flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.

For the remainder of Thursday showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90% NWS says.

Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms likely before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers between 10pm and 11pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 47. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
NWS  will be issuing a briefing update on the storm a 5 pm tonight to address any forecast changes /adjustments heading into Friday.
