Suicide Prevention Walk Set for April at Tech School

The Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force will holds it annual Hold on You Matter Walk to Make a Difference effort on Sunday, April 26th at Bucks County Technical High School (BCTHS) to raise funds to support its county wide initiatives. 

Online registration for the event closes the morning of April 26, but you can also register in person at BCCT located on Wistar Drive, in Fairless Hills beginning 9 a.m. the day of the event.

Walkers raising or donating at least $10 will receive a walk t-shirt, organizers say. 

The Prevention Task Force was initiated by the County Commissioners office in 2013. 

Since its creation the task force has accomplished much, including the addition of suicide prevention signs at SEPTA Regional Rail stations, the development of a First Responder Hotline, and the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) initiative designed to educate County employees and community members to recognize the indicators of persons experiencing emotional distress that might lead  death by suicide. 

Those who can not attend the walk but want to support the effort can send in checks and money orders can to the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc. 55 E. Court Street, 4th floor, Doylestown, PA 18901.
