“IPR Team” Volunteer Project Day. Saturdays: January 20th; February 17th; March 23rd, 10am-12pm. The Invasive Plants Removal Team meets once a month to help clear Invasive Plants from specific areas on the SLNC Grounds/Trails. Each season brings new plants in various degrees of difficulty and will also serve as a learning opportunity! These Project Days also involve planting native plants and trees. SLNC Earthship Tours. Saturdays: January 20th; February 17th; March 23rd, 1pm-2:30pm. Stop by to visit and learn about these interesting, sustainable structures! Day-off from School Camps. Why only have Camp in the summer when you can do it in all seasons?! SLNC’s School-year Camp Days are scheduled for days when most schools are off. Each Camp Day provides exciting seasonal outdoor Nature adventures for your child (5 – 14 years old). Maple Syrup Time! Saturday, February 3rd, 2pm-3pm. Learn the basic steps of how trees are tapped for their sap so that it can be turned into delicious syrup. Home School Enrichment Series. Wednesdays, February 21st – March 13th, 10:30am to 12pm OR 1:30pm to 3pm. SLNC’s Homeschool Enrichment Series is an option for families who take a different approach to educating their children. This 4-week program provides an opportunity for children (5 – 14 years old) to get hands-on experience within the STEM disciplines without formal constraints. Each of the lessons are developed with the PA Standard Aligned System (SAS) in mind and ensure that children will excel in all settings. The Silver Lake Nature Center, where learning comes naturally, is a 264-acre Nature Preserve located in Bristol Township, Bucks County. It is a facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation with additional funding and staffing provided by the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center nonprofit organization. SLNC is home to over 40 plant and animal species listed as rare, threatened, or endangered in Pennsylvania. Participation in programs helps protect these species and their habitats.
