United Way to Host Lower Bucks Chili Cook Wednesday at Bristol Help Center

It will be a showdown for the ages with Lower Bucks County emeritus chili connoisseurs’ olfactory senses activated at the mere mention of the first consonant in your name. What am I talking about?

The United Way of Bucks County 2024 Chili cookoff of course!

The cookoff to be held next Thursday at the Help Center, 194 Commerce Circle in Bristol. There There is something else you should know. October 7 is the deadline for you to enter your own special chili recipe

Here is what you need to know:

Whether you’re a chili aficionado or just love to cook, this is your chance to show off your best recipe and make a meaningful impact. Your entry will play a crucial role in our campaign to support vital programs and services in the community.

Participants will vote for the best overall chili, the best spicy chili, and the most creative chili. Winners will be awarded a golden spoon, custom UW aprons, and a feature on social media platforms so everyone can see who cooks the best chili in Bucks County.

Fire up your stove, register today, and join up! Funds raised by the cookoff event will go towards sustaining the myriad  supportive efforts United Way provides throughout Bucks County and beyond, a United Way spokesperson said.

Chili Cook-Off Rules:

Registration and Entry

Deadline: All entries must be registered by October 7th.

Ingredients: Please list any known allergens in your chili. We will print signage for each chili. Please also indicate the level of spice.

Serving Time: Chili must be ready to serve by 4pm.

Categories: Chilis will be judged in categories such as Best Overall, Best Spicy, Most Creative.

Award Decision: Participants will sample chili and award tickets to the chili they think best.

Special Requirements: Any special requirements or requests must be communicated to organizers in advance.

Supplies: Please plan to bring your chili in a crock pot (a 7 qt crock pot holds roughly 1.75 gallons of chili), bring an extension cord, and serving utensils. If you have any toppings, please be sure to bring enough for at least 60 servings.
