“Let Your Colors Shine” camp field day, a first for the newly consolidated YMCAs, was a day of activities, friends-making, including a surprise visit from a special teen actor and enjoyed by many, including camps from Lower Bucks County.
River Crossing YMCA hosted over 750 campers at Warminster Community Park on Thursday July 25 for the first ever “Let Your Colors Shine” camp field day. Summer campers from 16 YMCA camp locations in four counties came together for a day of activities, friends-making, and a surprise visit from teen actor Ja’Siah Young who played Dion in the hit Netflix series Raising Dion.

“This was our first time ever hosting all campers at a single event from throughout our newly combined YMCAs,” explained Danielle Cioffi, VP of operations for the Central Bucks region of River Crossing YMCA. YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties joined with Greater Valley YMCA on July 1. “The weather was great, the kids had a blast playing games, dancing, and making and exchanging friendship bracelets. We even got to cool off when the Warminster Fire Dept. rained cool water from the fire hose down on all of us. It was a special day.”
Young, who is about to turn 13 years old, spoke to the young campers about the importance of having an independent mind, avoiding peer pressure, and blazing their own paths into adolescence and adulthood. He also joined the campers to enjoy the refreshing cool water of the fire hose, and met with many individually, signing t-shirts and hats along the way, Riverview officials said.
River Crossing YMCA would like to thank event sponsors Penn Color, KMA Design Studios, The Giant Company, and United Federal Credit Union. The “Let Your Colors Shine” event was held in partnership with Warminster Twp. Parks and Recreation, which provided Warminster Community Park to River Crossing YMCA for the day.
