Bristol Borough Council will meet tonight at the municipal building, 7 pm 250 Pond Street.
State Senator Steve Santarsiero and state Representative Tina Davis (D- Bucks) will be on hand to present grant awards to Council, from the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County and to the Bristol Riverside Theater.
The grant awards were announced last week with a slew of pre-election day press releases.
Santarsiero and Davis since earlier this year have attended a number of Borough related events increasing their visibility with voters and borough officials since each of their districts have been redrawn.
Both, if they win, will be representing Bristol officially as of January 2023.
Additionally Grundy Commons was awarded $250,000 to to purchase the Bristol building in which it currently operates to protect TESCO’s leasehold and to allow for future expansion and utilization of the building to best suit their long-term growth plans, the state elected officials also announced last week .
Also on the agenda, stemming from weeks of discussions, is a resolution to authorize advertising an ordinance imposing assessment for the removal of garbage and refuse within Bristol Borough for the Year 2023.
Council spent a large of last months meeting discussing ways of dealing with when residents putting garbage out, for example. Officials noted residents were putting garbage long before scheduled trash pickups.
The garbage being out for hours contributed to area streets looking bad, officials said.
In a related Borough news the 2022 Fall Leaf Pick Up program was announced.
Leaves and yard waste will be picked up in brown paper biodegradable bags or open top containers every Thursday for 5 weeks, beginning November 10th and ending December 8th. (Nov. 24th is a Holiday, pickup will be on Saturday, Nov. 26th).
No plastic bags will be accepted. Raking leaves into the street is unlawful officials say and subject to fines.
