The Bristol Selecto Supermarket announced late Sunday it would be closing its doors due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, a statement on the outlets Facebook page says.

According to the statement, store management said was notified Sunday afternoon by an employee of testing positive for the virus.

“…we closed the store early to start deep cleaning the store. Out of an abundance of caution we also made the decision to close the store for the rest of this week to allow our staff to self quarantine. The employee was someone with limited contact with customers. We are doing everything recommended by the CDC to keep everyone safe during this time,” the statement reads.

Monday morning shoppers who were unaware of the closing, were met with a sign simply saying the market would be closed until October 24th.

Selecto closed in April as the pandemic took hold in Bucks County reopening 10 days later, announcing the employee who tested positive fully recovered.

Prior to reopening, store management put in place signage and floor spots guiding shoppers in order to stay within CDC guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing.

The supermarket in its statement did not indicate the employees last day of work.

If you shopped recently at Selecto and are concerned about potential exposure to the Coronavirus please consult a healthcare professional immediately or you can visit the counties COVID-19 site for help and information by clicking here.
