A brand new senior center is coming to Bristol Township.
In the works for about two years now, local, county, state and federal officials broke ground for the new facility on September 16.
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) recently announced he secured a $4 million Community Project Funding (CPF) grant to establish a new, state-of-the-art center that will be housed adjacent to the current center at the municipal complex on Bath Road.
State Rep. Tina Davis was able to secure $2 million to further fund the project. Davis, who held her annual senior expo two weeks before the groundbreaking, said the seniors in her district (Bristol Borough and Bristol Twp) are of the “upmost of importance” to her and that she was “proud to secure the funding for the new facility.”

The new facility will provide a safe, healthy environment where senior citizens can access professional services and engage in enriching activities and programming, officials have said in prior statements about the soon to be constructed building.
“One of the last few pieces of the township infrastructure that needed to be upgraded is the Senior Center,” Bristol Township Council President Craig Bowen said. “I want to thank Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick for all his support to help make our township a great place to live, work and play.”
The CPF grant was introduced by Fitzpatrick into the FY2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act as a part of the Community Project Funding program—an initiative that allows Members of Congress to target federal funds towards projects and programs within their congressional districts that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent.
“Our seniors are the heartbeat of our community, and from the moment I entered Congress, I vowed to be their unwavering advocate and champion. Securing $4 million for this state-of-the-art facility was a fight I was proud to lead, knowing how much it will empower our seniors, enrich their lives, and provide them with the resources, care, support, and opportunities they deserve. As this exciting project progresses, I look forward to supporting the Bristol Township team and continuing to bring transformative change and real results for our seniors and our entire PA-1 community, ” Fitzpatrick said.
According to township officials, expected completion on the new center is mid-2025 with work on the site already underway. After the center is completed, township manager Randee Mazur said, the current facility will be renovated into a fire and rescue Station, further enhancing services for the Bristol Twp community.
