The Bucks Department of Health will conduct a treatment spray for adult mosquitoes in three Lower Bucks County municipalities Wednesday.

The treatments will happen in Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, and Falls Township  on Wednesday night (Aug. 19) between 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

The ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation is to reduce high populations of nuisance mosquitoes and mosquitoes capable of transmitting West Nile Virus.

Certain mosquito species carry the West Nile Virus, which can cause humans to contract West Nile encephalitis, an infection that can result in an inflammation of the brain. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, all residents in areas where virus activity has been identified are at risk of contracting West Nile encephalitis.

According to the Dept of Health, treatments will occur, in Bristol Township areas boarded by Hood Blvd., New Falls Rd., S. Oxford Valley Rd., and Fairbridge Dr. Areas bounded by Mile St., Saybrook Dr., Veterans Hwy. (Rt 413), Newport Rd., Dixon Ave., and Arthur Ave. Lastly, areas bounded by N. Radcliffe St., Monroe Ave., Riverview Ave., Green Ln., Ash Ave., Wood Ave., and Pitt Ave. will be treated.

Treatments may occur in Bristol Borough areas around by Radcliffe St., Green Ln., Ash Ave., and Landreth Rd.

Treatments will occur in Falls Township areas in the areas of  Warwick Rd., Hood Blvd., and New Falls Rd.
