Slipping & Sliding on Independence Day in Bristol

Before the fireworks and “rockets red glare” just about two dozen area kids showed up at the hill along side the Bristol Borough Spurline path to slip and slide Independence Day away.

The unofficial but yet known cool off party was brought to fruition through the work and labor of the Antonelli family who reside on the 350 block of Pond Street.

Aaron and his wife Erin last year put a slip and slide up on the hill and invited anyone within driving distance to bring their kids and “just show up.”

Parents bringing kids, even those with “challenges” sat back, relaxed, while slip and slide trains came roaring down the soapy tarp screaming joyously.

The indirect effect of the impromptu water event created opportunities for kids to make new friends and families the chance to meet each other outside the ethereal world of social media.

With three children of their own, the Antonelli’s are family fun focus sort. Aaron, who is active in community related events often can be heard saying “Its all about the kids!”

Families repeatedly shared their gratitude with the Antonelli’s

“Thank you for doing this” many said.
