After converting to an automatic trash collection system similar to surrounding communities, Waste Management will provide Falls Township residents with a new trash and recycling cart in the coming months, says Donald Mack District Manager for the waste removal company in a letter addressed to residents.
The letter circulated by Falls officials earlier this week, with minor editorial adjustments where needed and or required for style, is below in its entirety:
As you know, WM has provided free waste and recycling collections to Falls Township residents for more than 35 years. It has been our privilege to serve you and we trust that our services have proven to be valuable to you and your family each week.
WM is committed to provide the most efficient and cleanest services available to all our customers. We recently converted our local truck fleet to an automated collection system. This system provides everyone with safer collection, reduced litter and an overall cleaner community. In the next few months, we will deliver to each Falls Township residence a new trash and recycling cart to collect and transport their materials to the curb for collection. You may have noticed your surrounding communities have already begun using the automated collection and cart system.
This letter is to provide you with some preliminary information about the upcoming equipment changes. We will still provide you with the same number of weekly collection services, but now using the new waste and recycling carts. Our new automated services make collections more efficient, requiring less time in the neighborhood and more residents can be serviced daily. This efficiency may change your specific days of service, but you will be informed of any changes long before they occur.
All updates and communications about the new collection services will be mailed directly to your home and be posted on the Falls Township website for your reference.
We look forward to continuing to service each Falls Township residents in the best way possible.
