5 Mile Woods Receives State Funding to Improve Access

Credit: Submitted

Lower Makefield Township will receive a $45,000 grant from Greenway, Trails and Recreation Program funds to improve access to Five Mile Woods.

This grant will help Lower Makefield improve access to this natural treasure.

The 85-acre nature preserve with heavily wooded trails and a tree canopy providing a nice escape from direct sunlight on hot summer days, level terrain with a few gentle slopes. Very accommodating to all sorts of walkers.

Grant funds are awarded for projects which involve development, rehabilitation and improvements to public parks, recreation areas, greenways, trails, and river conservation.
