Morrisville to Hold Emergency Meeting to Vote on Continuing State of Emergency Declaration

Morrisville officials will hold an Emergency Meeting Tuesday night to vote on a continuation of  Mayor David Rivella’s State of Emergency Declaration order issued on March 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a social media post on Councilman Justin Bowers public official page, the meeting will take place tonight using teleconference to vote on extending the declaration beginning at 7 p.m.

Borough Hall is currently unavailable to the public, per Borough Manager Scott Mitchell’s temporary closure announcement earlier this month.  The conference call will originate from Council Chambers so the meeting will be broadcast and  be replayed as is usually done.

Council is limited to action related to the emergency  declaration in accordance with state guidance pertaining to both Sunshine and  Open Office Record Laws, borough officials noted.

Should Council still be unable to return to the municipal building for meetings during the Governor’s declared State of Emergency, they will occur then via Zoom teleconferencing application, officials said.

As of Tuesday morning, Morrisville is one of nine Bucks County localities that have no confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to county mapping of community spread.
