2024 Paris – Biles Becomes Most Decorated Gymnast, USA Women’s Gymnastics Gets Olympic Gold

With Simone Biles leading the way, the USA Women’s Gymnastics Team dominated the Artistic Gymnastic Event.

Coming away with the gold in 2016 at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics and then having to settle for silver in the 2020 Tokyo games, the USA women’s gymnastic team was fixated on regaining gold, this time in Paris. They got their gold and they did it a dominating style.

Simone Biles began her gymnastic dream at the age of six and became the most decorated gymnast, 21 years later, with the team’s gold on Tuesday. She has a total of 37 Olympic and world medals.

Joining Biles, 27 of Texas, is Suni Lee, 21 of Minnesota,  Jordan Chiles, 23 of Texas,  Jade Carey, 24 of Oregon, and Hezly Rivera, 16, of Texas.

Lee, a former all around champion will compete with Biles in the Artistic Gymnastics final set for Thursday.

Currently, USA has 26 medals, the most in the games and with the gold win on Tuesday now has four gold medals.

In Rugby Sevens, the USA women’s team took a bronze medal.

Swimming Competition, Regan Smith, 22 of Texas, captured the silver in the Women’s 100m Backstroke event. In the Men’s 800m Freestyle, Bobby Finke, 24, Florida,  received a silver for his effort. The USA men took a silver in the Men’s 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay event and Katharine Berkoff, 23 or North Carolina garnered a bronze in the Women’s 100m Backstroke.
