Democratic House District 18 candidate Bryan Allen says with less than 100 days to go before voters go to the polls he has the momentum and the fundraising numbers to back it up.
Allen, who says he is leading a campaign built to represent the Bensalem community, is funded by neighbors, not special interest groups.
The Allen campaign contends his opponent, Republican State Rep. Kathleen “KC” Tomlinson cannot say the same, as her campaign fails to list a single individual donor.
Allen in the last quarter outraised Tomlinson 4-to-1, and he’s done it by building momentum every day through honest conversations, he said.
Allen says during the last midterm primary, Democrats trailed Republican turnout by hundreds of voters. A bellwether metric in the county, a successful primary forecasted dividends in the general election.
According to the Allen campaign, Tomlinson received 625 more votes than Democratic Candidate Anand Patel; this primary win garnered Tomlinson another term. The numbers are reversed in this election: Allen led the primary by nearly 1400 votes.
As Tomlinson’s base–built on familial name recognition-erodes steadily, the buzz around Allen surges.
Democrats lead registration rates across the district; they’re energized and ready to support the candidate with bigger plans than empty lip service, Allen said.
Allen has ripped Tomlinson publicly on issues surrounding charter school funding formulas and infrastructure in recent weeks.
“I’m tired of waiting for solutions that never seem to materialize,” Allen said. “I’m tired of waiting for my children’s schools to have the funding they need while watching our property taxes go up, to see my electric bill go down, to stop seeing my neighbors struggle without a living wage. I’m tired of waiting, and I know Bensalem feels the same. It’s time we take this fight to Harrisburg.”

Now with a Democratically led Council and School Board Allen is seeking to pull off and complete a trifecta no one saw coming last year at this time in a district that’s been Republican led for decades.
Allen said he isn’t waiting for the moment to come to him; he’s creating opportunities for himself district wide by personally knocking on over 3,300 doors and continuing to have conversations about the most pressing issues in the community.
“I promise that if I’m elected, I’ll do everything I can to change listless waiting into results.”
