Coach Andy Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs now stands alone as the only undefeated team after the seventh week of the 2024-2025 season. Now a recap of NFL Week 7 games with a sprinkling of tops plays added for good measure.
According to the Bleacher Report, the top five plays of Sunday were: (1) Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones’s 100-yard opening kickoff touchdown vs. Browns, (2) Lions safety Brian Branch’s interception vs. Browns, (3) Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf’s catch vs. Falcons, (4) Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’s 33-yard scramble vs 49ers, and (5) Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson’s leaping catch vs. Lions. Denver Broncos 33, New Orleans Saints 10 (Thursday Night) – Denver actually had a run game but questions remain
Sunday games kicked off in London(9:30 am) and the Jacksonville Jaguars won 32 – 16 over the New England Patriots. Coming into the game with identical records, the Jags moved to 2-5 and the Pats are now 1-6. Parker Washington’s 96-yard punt return touchdown was the longest TD in an international game and the first-ever special teams TD in an international game history, NFL.com says.
Seattle Seahawks 34, Atlanta Falcons 14 – Seattle’s Geno Smith had multiple passing touchdowns in a game for the first time in 2024 in Sunday’s win.
Buffalo Bills 34, Tennessee Titans 10 – Following last week’s trade from the Browns, The Bills’ Amari Cooper made his impact in the second half.
Cincinnati Bengals 21, Cleveland Browns 14 – A divisional win for the Bengals against the floundering and injured Browns. The Browns lost starting QB Deshaun Watson to a ruptured Achilles just before the second half and is out for the season and more than likely his career in Cleveland is finished
Green Bay Packers 24, Houston Texans 22 – GB Kicker Brandon McManus debuts and kicks the game-winner FG
Indianapolis Colts 16, Miami Dolphins 10 – Colt’s QB Anthony Richardson’s 41.7 completion percentage and 5.4 passing yards per attempt were the lowest of his career in a start.
Detroit Lions 31, Minnesota Vikings 29 – Both QBs had their troubles in this close game
Philadelphia Eagles 28, New York Giants 3 – Former Giant RB Saquon Barkley’s 176 rushing yards were the second-most by a player versus a former team in NFL history and allowed him to exact revenge on the franchise that refused to pay him is market value.
Los Angeles Rams 20, Las Vegas Raiders 15 – Rams defense held their own
Washington Commanders 40, Carolina Panthers 7 – Commanders keep commanding after a week 7 blowout as Carolina, according to multiple reports “quit” before the 2nd quarter was over
Kansas City Chiefs 28, San Francisco 49ers 18 – And then there was one – with another W for the Chiefs as the best player in the NFL led them to victory not through the air but with his feet.
Pittsburgh Steelers 37, New York Jets 15 (Sunday Night) – Is it time for Rodgers to depart the NFL – Same old Jets even with a Rodgers – Adams reunion.
Baltimore Ravens 41, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31 (Monday Night) – Lamar Jackson – 5 TD Passes – “Early indications” are wide receiver Chris Godwin suffered an ankle dislocation in final moments of the game
Arizona Cardinals 17, Los Angeles Chargers 15 (Monday Night) – Cardinal’s QB and RB duo won a hard fought contest.
