With fencing all around the property setting up for demolition work, Bensalem Monday night paved the way for work to begin to construct a Raising Caine’s on Horizon Boulevard.

Bensalem Council approved land development improvement and storm water best practices agreement unanimously.

The 3,331-square-foot restaurant will include indoor seating and two drive-thru lanes with parking.

Council approved a land development deal earlier this year for the Horizon Blvd site where Bertucci’s is currently located but is closed.

Since Raising Cane’s only offers chicken tenders, aside from their sides and drink menus, said  attorney for the developer Mike Meginniss at last years meeting with Falls officials.

The food preparation is even speedier than other fast-food restaurants, he said.  He explained that, on average, it takes a customer two-and-a-half minutes to place an order and pick up their food.

Last year Falls Township Supervisors approved a land development deal for a Raising Caine’s Chicken first location in Bucks County. The chicken fingers only restaurant  will be located on Commerce Boulevard. That project is set for completion this spring.

The company which refers to its customers as Cainiacs plans to open 14 eateries in Pennsylvania in 2022, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report

No word on target date for opening in Bensalem was announced.
