Bensalem Township Looks to Preserve & Land on Boulevard & Gibson Road

Bensalem Township is looking to buy the open land on Boulevard and Gibson Rd in order to preserve it.

According to a press release from the township, Bensalem’s Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo has been negotiating with Archdiocese of Philadelphia, who currently own the 20 acres of land on Boulevard and Gibson Rd.

The township made a formal written offer to purchase the land early this year, and has been in communications with Archdiocese of Philadelphia officials, in  hopes of buying it before the year ends.

Last year the township received  a $1 million grant to be used for open space preservation thanks to State Rep K.C Tomlinson and stat Senator Frank A. Farry

Currently, the township has 1,400 acres of open space, with 300 dedicated to public parks, playgrounds, and athletic facilities officials said
