Davis Announces $250K grant for BCCC

In an effort to create future apprenticeship opportunities for Bucks County students, state Rep. Tina Davis is proud to announce Bucks County Community College has been approved for a $250,000 grant through the Schools-to-Work Program.

“This grant will provide for pre-apprenticeship training, providing local students with an introduction and the solid foundation they need to make more informed decisions on the apprenticeships and careers they will pursue in the near future,” Davis said. “Manufacturing jobs have been an indispensable part of Pennsylvania’s workforce, and this program creates a more-defined career pathway for students as well as strengthens the pipeline for skilled workers with employers.”

The grant would allow the Center for Workforce Development at Bucks County Community College to bring the Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program to high school students throughout Bucks County.

The grant funds four groups of students (32 students in total) for pre-apprenticeship programs, helping to bridge the gap between the Bucks’ In-School-Youth Program with manufacturing apprenticeships throughout the region.
