The Sunshine Foundation granted the wishes of three children at the ‘Neshaminy Got Talent’ show, held by Neshaminy High School’s Interact Club earlier this month, while raising funds to help special needs kids in the area.
Neshaminy High School students showcased their talents at the event on March 20th. Among the performers were Skye Egelkamp, who sang “Tear in My Heart” by Twenty One Pilots, Hayden Grace, who sang “Feeling Good” by Muse, and Michael Pirollo, who solved three Rubix cubes in a matter of seconds.

Several student bands performed that evening, including “Nine Lives” covering “Just a Girl” by No Doubt, “Ascension” covering “Hypnotize” by System of a Down, and “Dynamically Challenged” covering “Santeria” by Sublime.
Proceeds from the event went to the Sunshine Foundation. This foundation has helped families of special needs kids make their dreams come true since 1976.
Sunshine Foundation President Kate Sample said the organization started when her husband, a Philadelphia Police Officer, wanted to help a boy named Bobby with leukemia get to the Pocono Mountains with his family. Since then, the foundation has granted over 43,000 children’s wishes.

That night, three local children had their wishes granted.
Alexandria from Bensalem wanted a gazebo; Caleb from Bensalem wanted to go to North Carolina; and Ahmar from Philadelphia wanted to meet Pluto and Tigger at Disney World.

As well as wanting a gazebo to enjoy the birds and sing, Alexandria said she wanted one for reading outside.
“I don’t like the sun that much, and I want to be able to read in peace while being outside,” she said.
