Credit: YouTube

For a recap of Week 10, the Kansas Chiefs and Detroit Lions almost lost but continue to dominate their divisions, while Washington Commanders came up short in their one-point loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and due to this loss, Eagles are in first place of the NFC East division setting up a Thursday night game that will actually matter when the two clash at the Linc!

In Munich, Sunday morning, the country saw a game between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants that was won by the Panthers with score being Carolina Panthers 20, New York Giants 17. The score may belie the actual game as it looks like Giants QB Daniel Jones may be finally headed to the bench after another game of  misreads, underthrown balls, overthrown passes, hapless sacks, and interceptions.

In Sunday night’s game, the Detroit Lions won the game by 3 points; Houston Texans missed a 58 yard FG and Lions struck back making their 52 yard FG to win the game. Even with QB Jared Goff having one of his worst games, the Lions came back from a 16-point deficit in the second half, as Houston fell silent, to win their game with the final being Detroit Lions 26, Houston Texans 23.

Chiefs escaped a loss and ran their perfect run to 9-0 struggling through the game, against the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs failed in stopping a 43-yard drive by the Broncos to hold onto their lead, as QB Bo Nix moved the Broncos  into field goal range. The Chiefs with no timeouts and on a prayer penetrated the Broncos defense to block the try by Bronco’s kicker Wil Lutz. At the end of the day, Chiefs triumphed with the score of Kansas City Chiefs 16, Denver Broncos 14 and remain undefeated.

The Philadelphia Eagles demolished the Dallas Cowboys by a final score of Philadelphia Eagles 34, Dallas Cowboys 6.  Jalen (Hurts) and the team started off as usual – slo-mo- but once they woke up, the Eagles became unstoppable Sunday afternoon. Dallas QB, Dak Prescott was on sidelines due to a hamstring injury suffered in week 9. The Dallas offense led by backup QB, Cooper Rush, and then Trey Lance were stopped over and over by the Eagles defense.

Also in the NFC, the Pittsburgh Steelers 28, Washington Commanders 27 game has to be mentioned. The one-point game saw Washington’s rookie QB Jayden Daniels and the team come up short and the Steelers offense were up and down all game.  Commanders’ Daniels held his own against the good Steelers’ defense. Steelers’ QB Russell Wilson hit newly acquired Mike Williams to start the ball rolling to erase the 10-point deficit Pittsburgh had going into the second quarter.

On Thursday night, November 7, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Cincinnati Bengals by one-point. The final was Baltimore Ravens 35, Cincinnati Bengals 34. In the third quarter, the Bengals were up 21-7. In the early part of the fourth quarter, Ravens came to within one point of the Bengals, making it 21-20 with plenty of time left in the game. It was tied at 28 each wit a little over four minutes left. In the end, Ravens with a brilliant comeback for the win and Bengals could not stop Ravens’ second half momentum and hold the lead.

The rest of the contests were a mix of very close games and some blowouts.

As we go into the second half of the season, the teams leading their divisions are: AFC – West – Chiefs (9-0), AFC – East – Buffalo Bills (8-2), AFC – North – Steelers (7-2) and South – Texans (6-4). In the NFC – West – Arizona Cardinals (6-4), NFC – East – Eagles (7-2), NFC – North – Lions (8-1) and NFC – South – Atlanta Falcons (6-4). Click here for complete standings.
