Critically acclaimed vocalist and bandleader Eddie Bruce returns to the Newtown Theatre stage in the matinee concert “Eddie Bruce: Broadway My Way” performing songs from some of the most memorable shows in Broadway history, including “My Fair Lady,” “The Roar of the Greasepaint,” “Man of La Mancha,” Guys and Dolls” and others.
He’ll also tell first-person back stories behind the people who made the music and how the legendary shows reached the Broadway stage.
In a four-decade career that has embodied and defined the tradition of show business, Eddie Bruce has performed his celebrations of Tony Bennett, Anthony Newley, Frank Sinatra and the best of Broadway on the main stages of Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center, World Café Live, Drexel University’s Mandell Theatre, New York City’s Birdland Theatre, and at night spots up and down the East Coast. He’s sung the National Anthem at many Phillies’ ball games, appeared in the Thanksgiving Day Parade, served as original host of television’s “Dancin’ on Air,” and will be featured in concert with the Philly Pops in October, with a celebration of the music of Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra.
The matinee concert will be held on Sunday, July 27 2025 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the historic Newtown Theatre located 120 North State Street in Newtown.
