If you’re an Inspire Federal Credit Union customer or do business with one pay close attention because scammers have targeted its customers, officials said over the last 24 hours.
A scam alert message was issued Tuesday sometime after noon to the dashboard of account holders.
The warning says “Fraudsters are spoofing Inspire’s phone number and impersonating our fraud department.”
The warning also says employees of the federal credit union would never ask its customers to send money, purchase gift cards or share personal information such as pin numbers or passwords, an Inspire security spokesperson said.
“If you get a suspicious call or message – don’t respond it is a scam” Inspire officials said.
Inspire FCU did not disclose any information on the number of customers already impacted by the truly uninspiring scam effort or whether or not there law enforcement is actively investigating the swindling effort.
Inspire FCU just recently closed operations at its Warminster site after it launched its new location in Bensalem Township.
Inspire’s call center can be reached at 215-788-5270 and is open to support customers Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Disclosure Note: Inspire Federal Credit Union is Bucks Digital Media’s (AKA Lower Bucks Source) business bank. None of the above information was provided to the publication prior to its release to banking customers.
