Parx Fined for Allowing Underage Gambler Play

Parx Casino was fined last week $10,000 by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for an underage gambler getting into the Street Road casino and playing.

First reported by the Bucks County Courier, the teen was allowed to gamble at the Bensalem casino in August 2021, according to a consent agreement between the board and the Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, which operates Parx.

According to Pennsylvania law individuals under the age 21 of are not allowed to access the gaming floor or gamble in a casino. It is the responsibility of casino personnel to verify the age of an individual gambling.

The teen was with a group, and he was able to get into the casino without having his state ID  checked. He eventually went to the craps table, where he provided a staff member identification for his brother, who was 20 at the time.

The underage gambler, according to the published report, bought into one game at the craps table losing $25.00. Staff asked to see his identification again alerting management there was an underage gambler at the table.

The teen evaded security by mixing in with a group of people who were all over 21, said Parx officials.

He was removed from the floor 11 minutes after and was taken into custody by state police, who cited him.
