The “Turtle Friends”, who live inside the SLNC Visitors’ Center, held a press conference on Sunday, to announce a “FUNdraiser” only humans were allowed to attend unless they brought popcorn!

The “aww-so cute” resident turtles Jorge aka “Buddy” and Riley let the news out that Silver Lake Nature Center (SLNC) is having a fundraiser this week to help with their care and maintenance.

Naturalist/Director of SLNC PattiAnn Cutter said the Double Good fundraiser will run this week, September 15 to September 19. “Buddy” and Riley think by selling popcorn to raise funds is in turn double good.

“SLNC asks for you to join the “yummy fun” between Sunday (15th) and Thursday (19th) by purchasing popcorn! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit Friends of SLNC organization.”

If you prefer not to purchase popcorn, but would still like to donate to this direct cause, please visit SLNC’s donation page and mention “Turtles” in the comments.

As always, SLNC is very thankful to you, the community, for all support given to them.
