It’s September, which means food cart and touch a truck events are in full swing and Falls Township returns with its family fun, food, and fundraising festival to support partners in the community at the beautiful and spacious community park.

The two-day event kicks off  on Friday, Sept. 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 9050 Mill Creek Road, Falls Twp. section of Levittown.

A variety of foods will be available to purchase from seven food trucks while listening to live music from House Party. A variety of children’s activities and yard games will also be available. Adults age 21+ can purchase alcohol as part of a fundraiser for the Fairless Hills Fire Department. Fireworks will conclude the day’s festivities, organizers said.

On Day two there will be a Touch a Truck/Family Festival The township’s seventh and will feature heavy machinery, emergency response vehicles, towing equipment, large trucks, and excavators.

Organizers said, a sensory-friendly quiet hour will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 10 a.m. Truck operators will participate. Please refrain from flashing your lights or blowing your horn during this time. In addition to balloon artistry, bounce houses, giveaways, and vendors, the Touch a Truck/Family Festival also includes free, fun activities for the whole family. Spearheaded by Falls Township Supervisor Jeff Boraski and the township’s Parks and Recreation department, Touch a Truck offers a unique opportunity for children to learn more about how the
various vehicles on display serve as first response, construction, electrical, farming, manufacturing and
more.

Proceeds from Touch a Truck will benefit two local charities: The Goofy Gators, a Bucks County-based organization that provides services and support to children with autism and other special needs; and The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation, which provides financial aid to families throughout the Delaware Valley who are in need due to recent tragedy or adversity, according to coordinators.

Representatives from The Goofy Gators will be on hand throughout Touch a Truck to provide noise- cancelling headphones and calming activities for our community members with special needs. Michael Barkann, host of NBC Sports Philadelphia, began the Foundation in 2013 and will make a special appearance at the Touch a Truck event. He will also choose the raffle ticket winner for a pair of Eagles-Cowboys tickets for the Dec. 29 game, another fundraiser for his Foundation, said organizers

Touch a Truck will feature police and fire vehicles, as well as two school buses, a tanker from the Township of Falls Authority, and Falls Township mowers and trucks. Event sponsors who will be bringing additional trucks and machinery include, Trash Daddy, Waste Management, Yard Truck Specialists, Crozier Contractors, SKD Tryon’s Emergency Vehicle Upfitting, IBEW Local 269, KPK Development, Premium Excavating, Grace Construction, United Inspection Agency, B.
