Falls Twp Announces Park Restrictions During Food Truck Festival and Touch A Truck Events

This weekend, Falls Township Parks & Recreation will hold  the Food Truck Festival this Friday and Touch A Truck on Saturday; some park access restrictions for Falls Township Community Park will be in place.

The Touch A Truck event, September. 21, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and this fun family event features various emergency service vehicles, as well as trucks from numerous industries and heavy equipment. Kids will have the opportunity to climb inside these trucks and learn more about their uses.

The following restrictions will be in place:

Friday 9/20 event (6-9 pm), boating will not be permitted. Additionally, no vehicle traffic will be permitted on the lakeside portion of the park. Anyone looking to use the park must enter off the Mill Creek entrance and park in the large parking lot area off the soccer fields. The Wheatsheaf Road entrances will be closed for the day as well. Access to the lakeside portion of the park will still be permitted by foot or bike. A portion of the walking path on the lakeside will be closed by approximately 1:30 pm. We need to do this in preparation of our Fireworks display later that evening, said in the Meta page for Parks & Recreation.

Saturday 9/21, normal park operations will resume with the exception that vehicles will not be permitted to cross the bridge linking the lakeside and soccer field portions of the park. If you plan on attending the Touch a Truck event, enter off Mill Creek Road and you will be directed to a designated parking area. For those looking to boat, use the dog park, hockey rink, skatepark etc. enter the park off the Wheatsheaf Road entrances to access those areas, also said in the Meta page for Parks & Recreation.
