Fitzpatrick Secures $25 Million Federal BUILD Grant to Reshape Regional Economy for Years to Come

Credit: Submitted

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) announced  one of the largest federal infrastructure investments in Bucks County history is coming to Bristol Township for a full scale revitalization of the Bristol Port Terminal also known locally Riverside Industrial Complex at Silvi Materials on Radcliffe Street.

Fitzpatrick (PA-01) has secured a $25 million federal BUILD grant for the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority to support a full-scale revitalization of the Bristol Port Terminal—a transformative infrastructure project set to reshape the regional economy, enhance freight mobility, and position Bucks County as a critical, strategic hub in America’s supply chain.

The grant, awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation, will fund the construction of a new 1,100-foot dock, modernization of offloading equipment, dredging of approximately 70,000 cubic yards of material, and the integration of upgraded rail infrastructure to significantly expand multimodal capacity.

“This is a major victory for Bucks County and a turning point for our region’s infrastructure future,” said Fitzpatrick. “Revitalizing the Bristol Port will create good-paying jobs, modernize our transportation network, and unlock long-term economic growth—which is exactly why I fought to secure this funding. But this is just one step. I remain fully committed to working with the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority, local leaders, and families—especially in Edgely— on the additional infrastructure projects already in motion to address local vehicular traffic while enhancing local commerce. Together, we’ll continue making investments that strengthen our communities and improve quality of life across the board.”

Silvi recently reopened a rail line for freight deliveries complex recently that caused a local stirring of sorts due to traffic related issues with the rebuild of the spur for the rail line.     Subsequently Bristol Township held a community in March where township residents and Tullytown Borough officials voiced concerns about ever increasing truck traffic on Radcliffe St that becomes Main St in Tullytown. Silvi, officials said, had become a major distributor of salt that is used to melt snow during cold weather season.

This $25 million investment represents one of the largest federal infrastructure investments in Bucks County history. The project will expand the region’s industrial capacity, improve environmental resiliency, and drive long-term job creation while boosting the efficiency and reliability of the entire regional freight system.

Ralph DiGuiseppe, Chairman of the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks Board of Directors, praised Fitzpatrick’s leadership and the grant’s far-reaching impact:

“We are incredibly proud and grateful to be selected for this transformative $25 million BUILD grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The revitalization of the Bristol Port Terminal represents a generational investment in our region’s infrastructure, economy, and workforce. This project will strengthen our local and regional supply chain capacity and position the Port as a key economic development area for years to come.

“We sincerely thank our federal partners for their unwavering support—Senator John Fetterman, Senator David McCormick, and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick—for their advocacy and commitment to infrastructure investment in Bucks County. Their leadership helped make this possible, and we look forward to delivering a project that brings lasting value to the Commonwealth and the country.”

This announcement builds on Congressman Fitzpatrick’s ongoing efforts to secure critical federal investments that strengthen infrastructure, enhance public safety, and drive long-term economic development across Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District, the congressman’s  office said.
