Lower Makefield officials announced in a social media post that Highland Drive will be closed at Taylorsville Road through the end of the year to replace the existing culvert.

Starting Monday, September 29, 2025, the road will be closed/detoured from its intersection with Taylorsville Road to Upton Lane. Work will be performed in coordination with PECO Natural Gas(PECO) and Pennsylvania American Water (PAW), who will be completing utility improvements/relocations in the project area. Coordination of schedules and activities will minimize impacts to residents and ensure the long-term reliability of both the culvert and underground utilities, said LMT officials.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour route because backups and delays may occur. Click here for more information on the project.
