Memorial Day 2024 Parades for Monday

The latest National Weather Service (NWS) forecast for the area calls for heavy rain expected on Memorial Day but the morning has a forecast of just a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm.

Hopefully, the scheduled parades and events can still take place before the rains appear. Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 81. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

With this forecast in mind and what we know so far, the Monday events and parades are as follows

Bensalem10 a.m. – Starting on Bristol Pike/Route 13 around Holy Ghost Prep and ending near Mill Road

Bristol – Time Change: Service begins 9 a. m.at the WWII Memorial Plaza  located at Pond and Filmore.

Croydon – 11:30 a.m. – Starts at Cedar Avenue and State Road, proceeding down State Road to Croydon VFW Post 1597 on Bellevue Avenue. Memorial Service at the end of the parade.

Langhorne Borough – 9 a.m. – Service at the Jesse W Soby Post of the American Legion, 115 West Richardson Ave.. The parade will commence following the ceremonies.

Morrisville Borough – 9 a.m. – Starts at Presbyterian Church at 771 N. Pennsylvania Ave. and ends at Morrisville Cemetery 

Newtown – 9 a.m. – Beginning at Newtown Commons (642 Newtown-Yardley Road). 9 a.m. and ending at Newtown Legion Post 440 41 Linden Avenue.

Yardley – 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Ceremony at the Yardley monument (Afton and Delaware Aves). Parade starts at 11 a.m. Starts in the Maplevale section marching south on Main St to the Yardley-Makefield American Legion Hall.
