A close encounter of a bear kind ended safely for all involved in Warminster Township Saturday morning with local and state authorities capturing a wandering cub earlier today.

Warminster Township Police along with the state fish and game commission broadcasted a live alert just 7 a.m. this morning.

Police were in the Speedway section of Warminster Township near Evergreen and Juniper Streets for bear sighting. Area residents were asked to call 911 if they encountered the bear so authorities could  track the bears path as the game commission was notified of the sighting.

About three hours later the bear  was peacefully apprehend on the 300 Block of Olive Street in a backyard, authorities said.

The bear will be relocated to a more conducive location for his growth and prosperity!! Thank you to all our residents in the Speedway section for their patience, authorities said.
