Nearby: Blighted Property in Warminster Demolished, Seen as Catalyst for Better Things to Come

The Warminster Township Board of Supervisors has announced the demolition of a blighted property located 231 Sweetbriar Drive in Warminster. The demolition began on April 29 and is expected to be completed by early June. The location was officially deemed a blighted property on July 18, 2024 by the township, at which time the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority was authorized to take over the property on behalf of the Township. The property was officially acquired by the Redevelopment Authority in September 2024. Beginning in December 2024, the Redevelopment Authority requested offers for the property, but no offers were presented. Subsequently, the Township requested that the Redevelopment Authority solicit contractors to submit proposals for the demolition and clean-up of the site. Proposals were received, a bid was awarded, and a notice to proceed with the demolition of 231 Sweetbriar Drive was issued on April 21, 2025. When demolition is completed the Redevelopment Authority will request offers on the property and buyers will be encouraged to respond. "Fixing a blighted property is more than construction—it’s a catalyst for safety, beauty, and economic opportunity,” said Mike Walsh, Planning Director, Warminster Township Licenses and Inspections Department. “The actions taken to address blighted location in Warminster Township demonstrate the Board of Supervisors’ commitment to building a stronger more beautiful community."
