Nearby: Doylestown Woman Charged with Attempted Murder, in Blood-Soaked Knife Attack

A Doylestown woman has been charged with attempted murder of the third degree, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and related offenses and was allowed to walk out of jail, after a Bucks County Judge modified the original bail set to unsecured.

The Central Bucks Regional Police Department were dispatched Sunday night at approximately, 8:50 p.m.  to the area of South Main and State Streets in Doylestown Borough for an abandoned 911 call. A second 911 call came in for the well-being check of a female at the same location, authorities said.

Upon arrival, police encountered Robin McNamara, 50 of Doylestown, outside the building with clothes soaked in blood.

McNamara allegedly told responding officers’ the blood was from the victim, and she believed she broke the victim’s nose.

Police located the victim in the unidentified apartment covered in blood with a deep laceration on the back of the head down to the skull. Several other lacerations were observed on the victim’s shoulders and forearm with bruising down the back, said Police

The victim informed police that McNamara had attacked the victim with a cleaver-type knife (found on scene). The victim was transported to a trauma center for medical care.

McNamara was taken into police custody Sunday night and was arraigned Tuesday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge Mark D. Douple. He set bail originally at 10 percent of $1 million, however during the hearing, he attached specific no contact conditions with the victim and reduced the monetary requirement for bail to zero dollars.

McNamara according to online court records is represented by William Craig Penglase, Esq. of Penglase & Benson Inc. McNamara’s next court date is August 6 to answer to said charges.
