Nearby: Woman Charged for Attacking Wheelchair Bound Family Member by Warrington Police

A 37 year -old Chalfont woman broke one of humanity’s unwritten maxims; never hit a person in a wheelchair especially if they’re family.

According to Warrington  Police, on October 7, 2025,  officers responded to Lincoln Circle for the report of a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed that 37-year-old Stephanie Chan, from Chalfont, assaulted a family member who is wheelchair-bound following a prior stroke.

Chan, police say, became involved in an argument with the victim over a bill she wanted them to pay.

During the altercation, Chan became upset, allegedly lifted a walker over her head, the victim was able to move and the walker struck the victim in the hand.

Officers observed two minor bleeding wounds on the victim’s fingers, police wrote in court papers.

The victim called 911, but Chan took both the cell phone and the house phone during the incident police said in a release.

According to the probable cause, Bucks County 911 remained on the line as officers were responding and could hear Chan saying, “if you don’t pay the bills I will kill you” twice.

Officers arrived on scene and located Chan in possession of both phones. She was placed under arrest and transported to the police station for processing.

Chan was arraigned by Judge Wertman, and charged with one count of felony aggravated assault, misdemeanors of simple assault, terroristic threats, obstructing justice and related offenses. Bail at $100,000 or 10% cash by Judge Wertman. Chan was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
She has November court date set to answer to said charges.

For violating the universal principle of attacking someone wheelchair bound while acting like a 13 year -old spoiled brat as the saying goes; Karma is a …..
