It’s that time again for the Newtown Antique and Classic Car Show, a festive event held every summer in Historic Newtown Borough and has been attended in the past by thousands of spectators.
Back on Historic State Street in the borough this great event will be held on Sunday, July 20th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date is July 27th, said officials.
There will be extra pedestrian traffic in the area Washington Avenue and State Street. Motorist are asked to be aware of pedestrians in the crosswalk and use caution. Road closures and parking restrictions will be in place so allow extra time, said Newtown Borough police.
According to police, State Street between Centre Avenue and Jefferson Street will be CLOSED starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 20.
Jefferson Street Bridge and Washington Avenue Bridge will be open for traffic. Local businesses will be open for business and the Newtown Borough Municipal Parking Lots will be open for the event and local businesses, said police.
There will be NO PARKING and signs will be posted on Sunday July 20 beginning at 6:30 a.m. for the following streets per officials:
- State Street between Centre Avenue and Jefferson Street on both sides
- Jefferson Street between North State Street and Liberty Street on both sides
- Greene Street between North State Street and Liberty Street on both sides
