NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim services agency, will hold a “Funny Fundraiser” at Poco’s Comedy Cabaret, 625 North Main Street (2nd Floor), in Doylestown on Friday, May 9 at 8 p.m.
The event will feature the comedy of Emmy-winning ventriloquist, musician, and comedian Taylor Mason. The cost is $30, plus processing fee. Proceeds will benefit NOVA’s free and confidential victims’ services for children and adults as well as its violence prevention programs.
Taylor Mason won $100,000 on Star Search in 1991 and has gone on to appear on the Last Comic Standing. He has his own DryBar television special and won an Emmy for his children’s show Taylor’s Attic. Mason combines comedy, ventriloquism and music for a show that is funny and appropriate for all ages. In addition to his live comedy act and television appearances, Mason has crafted television commercials and wrote The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Ventriloquism, a guide for both beginner and experienced ventriloquists to help them hone their craft.

“The work we do each day is very serious, so it will be a welcome break for us all to spend an evening together and enjoy some laughs,” said Penelope Ettinger, Executive Director, NOVA. “The Funny Fundraiser will help NOVA raise funds so we can continue our mission of helping crime victims and working to prevent violence.“
