PECO Utility Improvement to Close Brownsville Road for About 3-Months in Bensalem, Lower Southampton Townships

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Wednesday that PECO Energy will be performing utility construction on Brownsville Road in Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships, beginning Monday, December 1 and running thru February 27, 2026.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, December 1, through Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, Brownsville Road will be closed and detoured weeknights between Bristol Road and Knable Lane. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Elmwood Avenue, Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike), and Route 132 (Street Road).

Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
