Red October Bus Coming to Bristol Monday, Phils Lead Braves 1-0

It’s October, and “being in the Red” is a great place to be if you’re a Phillies fan. 

The Rally for Red October bus tour is in advance of the fighting’ Phillies taking on the Atlanta Braves in Game 2 of the National League Divisional Series.

The bus will stop at Bristol Borough Waterfront Park Mill Street parking lot, Monday Oct 9 at .12pm.

Officials said a road closure is at the top of the hill by the King George where Mill and Radcliffe Sts intersec

The Red October Bus is expected to station itself in front of the condos.

  • All aboard the double-decker bus will be special guests at select stops including the Phillie Phanatic and Phillies Ballgirls, among others. In addition, Hatfield Quality Meats is a location sponsor and will join the celebration at various stops along the way.
  • Fans at each tour stop will be invited to sign the Rally for Red October Bus with “Go Phillies” messages, as well as receive postseason freebies including an exclusive Red October rally towel and cheer poster, rally beads and more (while supplies last).

RALLY FOR RED OCTOBER BUS TOUR SCHEDULE

Monday, October 9

  • 10:00 a.m. – Mayfair: Frankford Ave & Cottman Ave, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Chickie’s & Pete’s, 11000 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Bristol Borough Waterfront Park: Mill Street Parking Lot, Bristol, Pa.
  • 2:30 p.m. – PJ Whelihan’s, 425 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, Washington Township, N.J.
  • 4:00 p.m. – Haddonfield Borough Hall, 242 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ

The Phillies struck first in the NLDS Saturday night winning Game 1, 3-0 in Atlanta. Monday’s game, first pitch scheduled for  6:07 p.m.; Big Day for fans of the Phillies, in Bristol and nearby, as the “Red October” bus pulls into Bristol’s Waterfront parking area around 12 p.m. on Monday and then a few hours later, Game 2 of the NLDS begins. 

But, back to the first game in this series, Game 1 had many elements Phillies fans loved, and Atlanta Braves hated.\

A Bryce Harper homer,  the bases-loaded, two outs catcher interference while J.T. Realmuto was at bat 5 stolen bases, and great bullpen relief and more made for an exciting game as the Phills shut down the Braves 3-0 Saturday. 

Game 2 startare ers  Max Fried (8-1 2.55 ERA) vs Zack Wheeler (13-6 3.61 ERA) 6:07 p.m. ET, TBS. 

Wheeler according to MLB.com, not only has he been fantastic over his last four starts — just six earned runs over 23 2/3 innings — he has become the Phillies’ most reliable, even dominant, postseason starter over his time in Philadelphia. He has a career 2.55 ERA in seven playoff starts for the Phillies, though one of his losses was against the Braves, in Game 2 of last year’s NLDS.

Go Phillies! Lock up another win in Atlanta and bring it home for a final win in the NLDS.
