Asked about the more than 20 percent reduction state wide of crashes Communications Director Myles said ” the Pennsylvania State Police is dedicated to ensuring the safety of everyone who travels our Commonwealth’s roads and highways. While crash numbers may be up or down from year to year or holiday to holiday, our safety message remains consistent: please slow down, buckle up, avoid distractions, be courteous to other drivers, and never get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Our enforcement statistics reinforce this message by reminding drivers that State Police and our local law enforcement partners are always watchful for those who ignore the law and jeopardize the safety of others.”

This report reflects PSP’s dedication to ensuring Pennsylvania roads are safe all year round, especially during high-volume travel times like the New Year’s holiday.
