State Rep. Jim Prokopiak has been working with Falls officials and PennDOT to see several long-awaited state road projects move to fruition.

During Monday’s Falls Supervisors meeting Prokopiak provided an update on the status of several of those projects.

  • The repaving of Hood Boulevard from St. Frances Cabrini to Old Route 13 is expected to begin in October and will be completed this year.
  • The Route 13 bridge over the Conrail tracks is in the design phase. There is no timeline for completion as the project is large and involves more than just repaving. The project is part of a bridge repair project throughout the five-county area. In the interim, PennDOT will patch concrete in September, weather permitting.
  • Tyburn Road, in particular the “hump” at New Falls Road, will be designed and engineered to make the hump less severe. This project will be put in the queue, but a timetable for completion was not available.
  • Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and North Oxford Valley Road intersection, where Fuddruckers was formerly located, has been an issue for 40 years. PennDOT is working on right-of-way issues there with work expected to begin in July 2026.

In other business, the Supervisors granted a special event application for Prokopiak to permit a Sept. 6 event at Falls Township Community Park. From 3-7 p.m. Prokopiak, as well as various vendors, including PennDOT, Bucks County Community College, Bucks County Workforce Development, Habitat for Humanity and the Pennsylvania State Police, will be on hand to answer questions and provide information. Geared for residents and families ranging in age from 25 to 50, Prokopiak told the board that the event is designed to provide residents with insight of “all resources at the state and local level.”

The event will also feature live music, and food and alcohol for purchase.

“I applaud the event,” Supervisors Vice Chairperson Erin Mullen said. “I think it’s going to be great.”
