Construction Planned Next Week on Old Lincoln Highway in Middletown Twp

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced last week that bridge construction is scheduled next week on Old Lincoln Highway at the U.S. 1 overpass under a project to reconstruct, widen and improve U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown Townships.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, August 21, through Friday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes will take place on southbound Lincoln Highway for beam setting on the new southbound U.S.1 overpass.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
